Is fusion energy “around the corner”?  At our Deep Dialogue on July 28, we heard from Dr. Devon Battaglia, Senior Manager of Physics Operations for the SPARC Tokamak at Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS), a startup in Devens, Massachusetts working to commercialize fusion energy production. Dr. Battaglia has been involved in fusion energy for his entire career. Prior to joining CFS, Dr. Battaglia worked for over a decade as a Research Scientist at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, and has played a key role in operating tokamaks around the world.  We heard about the development of fusion technology and how it will be employed in the future to help Massachusetts meet our energy needs, and help the country reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Below is the video of his presentation. (There are no accompanying slides.)
